I love them, and they love me back

I mean, I have never really gotten anything from this blog, have I? Sure, there's the occasional high when I get "Tomorrow-ed" or when someone refers to my blog. But blogging for an audience is certainly no easy matter. 'What topics are they interested in? How to be interesting and original?' Yada, yada, yada.

So I blog about myself.

Remember how 黄熊熊 wanted to hand himself on a plate to 美狗狗 and saw a weird chicken at Harbourtown? And how I raved about Nando's and wondered why they are not available in Singapore? And how we had the Nando's sauces for reunion dinner? Payback time because I received this today!

My very first parcel from USA!

Cost $5.60! That's USD for you, mister!

Yes! Yes! Yes! Weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!!! The kind people at Nando's picked up on my post about Nando's reunion dinner and gave me a shoutout on their site! Click, click, click!!!

The goodies!

A smashing, personally signed letter from Nando's David! I mean, how many people actually sign letters or even write letters nowadays? Great marketing tactic, David! I am sold!

Oh yes! I love it hot and wild. But I can be sweet and mild too! (^o*)/")

Tell David (david@nandosusa.com) your misery when your sauces run low and you cannot replenish them here in Singapore. Maybe he will be kind enough to send you some! I certainly don't mind for my brain has stopped functioning since CNY eve. (+_+")

Train

I like taking train in Brisbane. Today, I took a 2 hour train ride to Helensvale to go shopping at Harbour Town. Funny how far girls will travel to get bargains. BUT! I didn't manage to get anything!!! Saved for a meal at Nando's, which I can easily get from the city 20 minutes from my house.

Hmm... I wonder why no one franchising Nando's in Singapore. It will be huge! Even my mum who is not a BBQ food kind of person loves it! Never mind! I still had an interesting ride on the train.

My Malaysian housemate asked me a question: do you have toilets in your trains in Singapore? Hmm... Although we do not have toilets, I wonder if we need toilets for a ride from Jurong to Pasir Ris. Here's the huge toilet on the Brisbane public train.

This is only a third of the whole cubicle. Fascinating how they have a bin for dumping needles. For the diabetics maybe? We should have something like that in Singapore? I wonder what it would be like to take a dump while the train is moving and your stop is reaching soon. Do u first

a) Wipe your ass
b) Grab your belongings
c) Wear your pants
d) Continue dumping
e) Sigh and say 'Whatever!'?

I like the toilet so much that I took a photo inside. It really is clean. I doubt it will be clean if it's in Singapore. I am amazed by how dirty Bishan toilets are. Check out Junction 8 and you'll see what I mean.

Sometimes, when I take train, I feel weird because the whole train of people look bored and black-faced. The only time there seemed to be some life was taking train during Ekka.

Click on the photo and let me know if you understand what the drawings are there for. Don't see the link between the drawing and the words: Speak when light flashes.

So, do you love the toilet on the train too? :)

If your eyeshadow becomes blusher before you walk out the door...

I seldom plug products but every once in a while, I come across something fantastic (like nando's).

Today, it's not about food. If your eyeshadow seems to have the amazing power of converging into a thin, oily line before lunch, this is the product for you.

Urban Decay's Primer Potion, S$32 from Sephora.

At first, it doesn't seem possible that a smear of this on your lids will make your eyeshadow stay. In fact, the thing practically disappear when you blend it into your lids. So never mind, I continued slapping on the shadow, prepared to be disappointed by yet another product touting A but giving Z.

Do not be surprised when your eyeshadow turns out a lot more vibrant that you're used to. I think this is what the primer is meant to do. Most amazingly, my eyeshadow actually stayed on the lids and did not initiate its usual trek down to my cheeks. How COOL is that?

If you're like me who have tonnes of eyeshadow pots in the drawer that you can never use (unless you like green/blue/purple blusher), this is your lifesaver. GRAB IT!

TGIF! ***Updated***

How do you end your week of lessons and work? You do everything on Friday of course!

Every Friday, my partner in crime, P, and I will irritate people at the badminton courts. When you hear the words "badminton courts" you must be thinking: Ah! These girls lead healthy lifestyles!

WRONG! We make a nuisance of ourselves because we scream when we do not get a hit, gossip when we remember something that is oh-so-juicy, shake and squat while trying to hit the shuttlecock, blind others with the flash from our camera (strictly speaking, only this week and only because only three other girls were around; that's a mouthful of "onlys"), and set up such awful nets that they are nauseating to look at.

With facial expressions like this, how can anyone play near us? Ah! But this is an excellent attack tactic.

What happens frequently is picking up the shuttlecock. We spend more time bending than hitting. Good for the asses. WooOooOo!

We stand around more than run about.

Then we sit down and admire our shoes and fingers

Very cheap Adidas! Only $50 I think!

After we sweat it out on the court, we go for latin dance class. Poor dance partners! Because latin dance is a social dance, we frequently switch partners and spread our sweat around. Make sweat not war! Luckily for the class, because we are such poor badminton players, we do not sweat much.

After the class, we sometimes (once) go to the playground to play the see-saw and shriek in pain. Sometimes (once), P has to meet her supervisor. Sometimes (twice), I have to meet mine.

Anyhoo, it always end with us going home for shower and lunch before heading out again to the city. Didn't I say we do EVERYTHING?! So now, I shall go dress up for nobody and go catch the bus! Will finish the TGIF hurray later!!!

***Updated***

Why do we head to the city? To shop of course! Friday is late night shopping day where, instead of closing at 5pm, the shops close at 9pm! Woohoo!!! We like!

Typically, the route we take is as follows:
- Bubble milk tea in the back alley shop
- Valleygirl
- Temt
- Sportsgirl
- Myer Center: Sportsgirl (yes, got to check out all the outlets), Tightrope, Ninewest, Jeans West, Just Jeans, Myer, Diva, Target)
- Supre
- Dotti
- Queen's Plaza: Ninewest, Diva (yes, this outlet too!)

Then after these shops, it almost dinner time. Before dinner, there might be a last minute dash to get the $39.95 top from Sportsgirl that's not exactly value-for-money but it die-die-must-have.

Meals are good for aching feet. With our long but satisfying day, this is about the only time we get to rest. Usually a choice between the average-pricing Japanese/Korean food, Nando's or fastfood. Sometimes we feel like splurging because of an unfruitful shopping trip and will go for the more exotic.

After eating? More shopping of course! Till the shops close! Usually we are quite 'guai' and will go back home. Sometimes (once), we will go to a club to get a drink. Sometimes (today), we will try a new cafe and spot animals in Southbank.

What animal is this?

Made from trash bags wor!

It's a dugong!

Today's cafe is Batavia at Southbank. According to my Javanese friend, A, "Batavia" is the Dutch word for "Jakarta". And the cafe serves the most fascinating drinks! Because you mix them yourself!

It sells Indonesian-themed products too, such as cushions and lampshades.

Why should you mix your own drink? Because you can decide how sweet, milky, thick you want it! Suits everyone!

How to mix your own drink? See the video below!

MAHJONG!!! MAHJONG!!! MAHJONG!!! How not to be excited!!! Except when you're playing with someone who puts out a tile for you to "pong" then says she changes her mind. +_+ Oh well, not playing money can close one eye. Play money I will chop your pinkie!

Many people do not make positive connotations with mahjong. But do you know mahjong can minimise the chances of Alzheimer's disease? Play but don't lose! Lose money will make you die even faster! No money how to eat?

Win like me! Do I look younger than my 18 years?!?!?! :D:D:D
